Worry Bug Project

Christchurch Central Electorate
Friday, July 10, 2015

At some point in our lives we all worry and feel anxious. The Worry Bug project seeks to recognise and address mild to moderate anxiety. Launched on Wednesday, ‘Mai and the Worry Bug’ and ‘Wishes and Worries’,  are two terrific books to utilise as a resource for helping young children and their families deal with and better understand anxiety. They are well written, well-illustrated, age appropriate books designed to teach children how to best deal with their emotions and the emotions of others. It is fantastic to see that all schools in Christchurch, Selwyn and Waimakariri districts will receive complimentary copies of ‘Wishes and Worries’ and every year 0-4 student will receive a complimentary copy of ‘Mai of the Worry Bug’.
