It was great to see the New Zealand Police win the Building Trust and Confidence in Government IPANZ  award.   Public trust and confidence in the New Zealand Police has jumped 9% (up to 78%) over seven years as a result of culture change initiatives.

New values, code of conduct and business strategies helped reconnect staff to their purpose; recruitment and promotion valued diversity and inclusion; and early intervention strategies and tools have helped prevent inappropriate behaviour.

IPANZ  awards recognise and celebrate outstanding performance in the public sector, and the difference public sector professionals make to the lives of New Zealanders.
